The Role:

We are seeking a Lead Compliance Analyst to join our team as a subject matter expert. This role will require broad knowledge of and work closely with environmental regulatory agencies. This role is responsible for researching regulations, assisting Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams with Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge, and supporting our outside partners with their reporting obligations.


  • Serve as a SME related to the US’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Clean Air Act
  • Act as a liaison between the Derive, the EPA, California Air Resource Board (CARB), and our network of Distributors
  • Provide technical expertise on automotive engineering and emissions processes
  • Manage Derive’s compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards
  • Develop and conduct training to employees, network partners, and customers on compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards
  • Create and implement processes and concepts to improve the compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards
  • Ensure corrective action plans are implemented and executed for non-compliant situations
  • Network with industry expertise and work collaboratively with various levels of the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or other equivalent
  • 3+ years of compliance experience
  • Strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, standards, and interpretations
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and the aftermarket
  • Strong technical automotive background
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience preparing detailed technical and environmental reports
  • Experience interacting with regulators
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety

We would like this role based local to Sanford, FL or Broomfield, CO, but can also be based in the following: AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, NC, NM, OH, PA, TN, TX, or VA.

This position is eligible to participate in the company bonus, medical, dental, disability, paid time off, and 401(k) plans. Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires an estimated base range for this position: $70,000 - $85,000/year. Actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on requirements of the job and your skills. This posted range is a good faith and reasonable estimate. Derive Systems reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
